This is a charming collection of short tales about animals written by popular Russian children's author Vladimir Suteev. There are eight tales on this audio CD, each lasting anywhere from 1 to 8 minutes.

One of the most popular stories is called "Under the Mushroom" (# 4 on this CD and featured on the cover). It tells about the animals caught out in the rain.

Caught out in the rain, an ant takes shelter under a very tiny mushroom. Soon, a wet butterfly, then a drenched mouse, a dripping sparrow, and even a rain-soacked rabbit each beg to join under his miniature umbrella. How can the ant let the others in when there is barely toom enough for one? But the rain keeps coming down, and they all somehow manage to squeeze together and share the tiny shelter. When the sun finally comes out, the ant discovers a magical secret of what happens to mushrooms in the rain. They grow!

In the tale called "Who Said Meow", a little puppy was half asleep when he heard someone say "meow". When he gets up, he tries to figure out who was that: a rooster, a mouse, a fish, or, maybe, a frog? He will finally get the answer - the hard way...

Originally recorded for the State Radio Station, the stories are performed by popular Russian actors and storytellers  Nikolai Litvinov, Vsevolod Abdulov and Klara Rumyanova.

In Russian language. Recommended for children of 3 to 7 years of age.
