The book tells a story of a 13-year old girl named Salamanka. She travels from Kentucky to Oregon in order to find her missing mom. She takes this road trip with her grandma and
grandpa, and there will be many twists and turns on the way, while the ending may catch you by surprise.
The book is both exciting and dramatic. The saying Sharon Creech uses on the back of its cover perfectly fits with the story, "Don't judge a man until you walk two moons in his moccasins".
