This book presents two fables in English and Russian languages, with the Russian text displayed on the same page under the English version.
In Aesop's fable opening the book, "The Lion and the Mouse", Lion spares the life of a mouse never thinking that one day that little mouse may be the only one who can save his life. The second fable is "The Hare's Revenge". It tells about the hare who is fed up with the bullying Lion so he finds a way to outwit him. Jan Omerod's expressive illustrations accompany the texts.
