Pippi, a fictitional 9-year old girl from Sweden, has become popular around the world - thanks to Astrid Lindgren, the author who created the character. Pippi has found her way to the hearts of Russian children, too, once her stories were translated into the Russian language and this charming children's film was made.

So meet Pippi, who lives alone since her father, a captain of the sailing ship, got lost at sea. She, however, keeps company with a monkey and a horse in a small Swedish village. Her friends and next-door neighbors, Tommy and Annika, accompany her on her endless adventures.

The children's father disapproves of Pippi's sometimes coarse manners and lack of education. However, Tommy's and Annika's mom knows that Pippi would never put them in harm's way, and that Pippi values her friendship with the pair above nearly all else in her life. Pippi may not be educated but she is intelligent in a common-sense fashion...

This joyful children's film has many well-known Russian actors in it, among which are Tatiana Vasilieva, Lev Durov, Mikhail Boyarsky, Leonid Kanevsky and others.
