This coming-of-age film was made in Russia in the 1970s and won an award for best film director at the Berlin Film Festival.
It's set in a summer camp where the film's main character, Mitya, falls in love for the first time in his life. The girl Mitya falls for knows three languages and is a big reader. To impress her Mitya takes part in a theatre production. The film talks about the beauty and innocence of first love, and its fragility. Mitya looks up to his camp councelor who helps him as he goes through this summer of change.
